Yeah, okay. Sure. Whatever. |
The Simpsons go to a retro 50s diner. There, a dance competition is announced where the winning duet wins a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Ecstatic, Homer enters the competition alongside Marge, and the two dazzle on the dance floor, enough for them to win the motorcycle. However, Homer admits that he doesn't know how to actually ride one, but with Bart's help he gets the hang of it.
Now with the ability to drive his 'cycle, Homer starts riding it everywhere he goes, looking cool along the way. One morning, he watches an old movie rather similar to Rebel Without a Cause, and decides to start up his own motorcycle gang. Homer enlists Moe, Lenny, Carl and Flanders (as he has a rumpus room with bumper pool), the gang goes by the name "Hell's Satans" and quickly gains notoriety around town, so much so that they even appear in a motorcycle magazine.
One night, though, a rather rough motorcycle gang also named the Hell's Satans bursts into the Simpson home and confronts Homer over the use of the Hell's Satans name. They initially punish Homer by having him eat his gang jacket, but upon seeing all of the other merchandise Homer has with the name, the gang decides to just camp at the Simpson house. As the family gets used to living life with the motorcycle gang, the gang members themselves begin to really appreciate Marge's housekeeping and cooking. One day, the gang decides to leave suddenly, much to Homer's glee until he learns that the gang took Marge with them.
As Homer goes to find Marge, she is slowly but surely taming the gang, making them less vicious and more acceptable to finding competent jobs. However, Homer finds the gang and starts beating them up. Unwilling to give up Marge, the leader of the gang, Meathook, challenges Homer to a duel in the 'circle of death'. With Marge's help, Homer is able to get the upper hand on Meathook and win the fight. The gang accepts defeat and, after thanking Marge for all she's done, take their leave. Homer and Marge ride back home.
Quick Review
I didn't like this episode very much. The most enjoyable part of it was during the middle act when Homer was being cool on his motorcycle or with his motorcycle gang, but when the other gang gets involved, the episode just really falls apart.
Final Score: 6.2
