If I saw that many dolphins, I would flip! *ba-dum tsh* |
G-G-Ghost D-D-Dad
Homer sees in his horoscope that he'll die before the day is done. Despite numerous attempts by life to end Homer, he gets through his day at work with only moderate injury. However, Homer makes the mistake of eating broccoli, which as it turns out is the deadliest vegetable known to man, and indeed Homer dies when attempting to eat a piece. He goes to heaven, but is denied access past the pearly gates. St. Peter informs Homer that he has yet to do a single good deed, and is given 24 hours to complete just one to go to heaven. Homer can't seem to accomplish it, though, and even though he unwittingly does a good deed in the last minute, St. Peter failed to see it and Homer gets sent to hell anyway where Satan bullies the hell out of him.

Scary Tales Can Come True
Taking place in ye olde land in ye fairy tale's past, Homer has just lost his job as village oaf. Rather than have his two children starve in his home, Homer instead dumps the two into the Deep Dark Woods to fend for themselves. Lisa has a book full of fairy tales and, as it turns out, many locales within mirror said tales. After a couple of misadventures, the two come across a gingerbread house, and Bart takes Lisa inside before she can consult her book. The two get captured by the hag inside, but Homer comes to rescue them (after Marge forces him to). He eats his way into the house, but the hag gets revenge by turning his head into a fish, his arms into brooms and his lower half into a chicken's lower half. The hag tries to stuff Homer into the oven, but Homer turns the tables and stuffs her in instead. The magic on him apparently dispels, and the family goes home, never needing to worry about starving as the chicken half of Homer remains to plop out egg after egg.

Night of the Dolphin
At Springfield's Marine World, Lisa takes pity on Snorky, the attraction's dolphin who has to deal with too much crap from other people. Seeing the dolphin yearn for escape, Lisa opens a gate to set it free. Snorky is actually the king of the dolphins, who decides to seek revenge for the mistreatment he received from the humans, and comes up with a secret plan to his dolphin underlings.
Soon, the dolphins take to land, killing everyone they come across. Springfield tries to have a town meeting to address the crisis, but its interrupted by Snorky and the dolphins. Snorky, revealing he can talk and quite competently as well, reveals that dolphins were once a land race but were expelled by humans eons ago to the sea, only now coming back to land to banish the humans instead. Homer attempts to lead a rebellion against the dolphins, but the attempt fails and human kind is indeed forced to sea. Kang and Kodos observe this madness, but ponder why they hadn't appeared in the Halloween special up until this point, settling for an Old Navy commercial gig when the opportunity arises.

Quick Review
This is another fine installment to the Treehouse of Horror series and a good start to Season 12. Admittedly, the Fairy Tale segment wasn't really all that funny, but the other two segments more than made up for it.
Final Score: 8.4
