Bart, Milhouse and Nelson are running a sort of scam where they spraypaint address numbers on the curb and force people to pay $10 for it. Homer catches them trying to do it on his curb, but stop them before they can finish putting in "742", stopping at "74". Homer insists he'll finish it himself, but after his first attempt successfully informs the 74 Oakland Athletics that they're the best team ever, Homer forgets about it. Soon, he ends up getting mail that was addressed to 74 Evergreen Terrace, and takes advantage of it. One such letter states that Marge "won" a cleaning service for a day. Not wanting to look untidy to the cleaners, Marge goes on a cleaning rampage, making the house nearly spotless. However, one single tough spot remains on the kitchen floor, so Marge attempts to concoct a formula of chemicals to take care of it. The chemicals, though, cause Marge to get woozy and she passes out, hitting her head on a stool on the way down.
When Marge wakes up in the hospital, its learned that she has amnesia. She goes home soon enough thanks to insurance, where she hears Maggie sucking on her pacifier, and her memory jogs enough to remember her baby. She soon remembers Lisa, Milhouse, Bart and Ned Flanders, but she can't even begin to remember Homer, no matter how hard she or Homer tries. Patty and Selma hear of this and take joy in it, but Homer isn't licked quite yet. He takes Marge out to a fancy dinner, then in an attempt to jog her memory he takes Marge to the minigolf place, where the two first had hot sex (or at least conceived Bart). Marge won't believe that she would've done such a thing, and quickly separates herself from Homer, forcing him to leave the house.
As Homer moves in with his father, Marge is driven to Shelbyville by her sisters in an attempt to find a new man. Marge doesn't really care about this, but she finds herself interested in one man during a speed dating session, and the two go out for coffee. Homer's pals Lenny and Carl spy this and quickly inform Homer. As Homer arrives to eavesdrop on the conversation, the man's interest in Marge takes a severe nosedive when he learns that she has both amnesia and three kids. Homer confronts the man as he leaves, warning him that he's made a big mistake in dumping Marge as she's the nicest person he'll probably ever know. Marge sees this and is happy that Homer knows so much about her. She doesn't still remember him, until Homer triggers her memory unwittingly by mentioning how big of a drunk he is. Marge finally remembers everything, and she's happy again.
Quick Review
Well this episode wasn't so bad, nothing really wrong with it. Except, there was hardly anything funny to laugh at. The opening act had its moments, so did the ending act, but I just didn't find all that much in the episode that I would consider funny.. Its a shame, too, as the episode's plot was alright even as the stealth marriage episode it was.
Final Score: 6.7
