The Mansion Family (S11, E12-238)

Furious George will never be the same...
Plot Summary
During some kind of Springfield community award show, Mr. Burns ends up winning the "Oldest Resident" award after the other one dies on stage.  Now fully aware of his age, he takes Smithers' recommendation to go to the Mayo Clinic.  Needing a house sitter in the meantime, Burns decides to have Homer do the job, under the premise that the normally incompetent Homer is due for a good showing.

Soon, the entire family goes to the Burns mansion to upkeep it.  Homer quickly takes things a bit far, and takes full advantage of his new surroundings.  He decides to have a party at the mansion, but there is apparently a law where beer can't be sold before 2 PM on Sundays.  Knowing the resources he has at the mansion, Homer decides to take a yacht out to international waters and have a law-free party, inviting various men across Springfield to said party.

As the yacht crosses international waters, all bets are off.  Early drinking and monkey knife fighting are among the things the happen at the party, which gain the attention of nearby pirates.  They board the yacht and force everybody else off it after taking their money.  Burns returns from the clinic after learning that he's so sick he's not really sick at all, to find that his yacht is gone but - more alarming than that - his prized monkey's face is torn up.  The Simpson family returns home and Homer goes through an emotional spectrum that begins with him bemoaning being 'poor' again to getting ready to rat out all the rich people in the credits to the IRS.

Quick Review
I haven't used the word "unremarkable" much in my reviews thus far even for episode that have fit that word, and it definitely fits here.  Its probably not a good thing that the best part of the episode was during the credits when Homer was bemoaning how rich (but not rich enough) the people listed in the credits were.  Otherwise, the plot of the episode offered few jokes and not enough laughter for it to be considered great.

Final Score: 7.6
